<-------"What the heck is that" you may be asking yourself. That's my new batch of beer brewing....a delicious Java Stout. I've never tried brewing a dark beer before, but since I've had so many lately due to the dark and cloudy skies here in Portland, I thought I would give it a go. It looks like it is coming along nicely. A nice head of foam is there and the yeast is busy eating as much sugary malt as it can right now. In a few days, I'll have warm, alcoholic beer. Next step is to add the cold pressed coffee to the secondary fermentator. I can't wait to get this first batch of beer in the kegerator...just in time for St. Patricks day.
